We offer a comprehensive set of geospatial data products that include:
Real-time tropical cyclone winds, coastal storm surge, waves, and rainfall
winds are adjusted for surface roughness and topography
storm surge over land are provided as inundation depth
wave height are provided as significant wave height
rainfall data represent cumulative rainfall over life of an event
Footprints of wind, coastal storm surge, waves and rainfall from historical tropical cyclones
Environmental data, such as the formation potential and maximum potential intensity of tropical cyclones, fire boundaries derived from MODIS and VIIRS observations, peak significant wave heights, and global sea surface temperatures
All products have global coverage, and real-time data are available shortly after the release of a new or updated forecast/model run from official external sources and agencies.
We offer data packages at various price points, allowing clients the ability to customize data to a level that fits their business needs. As shown below, options include two main categories of data products: real-time data and historical data. The products are provided in industry-standard geospatial formats for visualization and geographic analysis and can be easily integrated with existing books of business and exposure datasets.
Real-time data can be licensed on monthly, annual, or longer bases, with discounts available for longer commitments. Historical data are licensed per storm or as basin catalogs for a fixed term, with options for scheduled updates as new storms occur. Please contact us for more information.

REAL-TIME TROPICAL CYCLONE HAZARD DATA
Polygon data for wind speed, storm surge depth, wave height, and rainfall amount are generated using Kinetic Analysis’s proprietary models run at a standard 60 arcsecond (~ 2 km) resolution using inputs based on forecast data*
ADDITIONAL REAL-TIME TROPICAL CYCLONE DATA
Forecast points and track lines for each official agency forecast update
POST-EVENT HAZARD DATA
A complete run of a storm’s history at a 30 arcsecond (~ 1 km) resolution generated shortly after a tropical cyclone dissipates or transitions to an extra-tropical cyclone
CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS
Additional tracks and hazard footprints based on forecasts by other external sources, such as Regional Specialized Meteorological Centers, or model guidance produced by models run by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the UK Met Office, the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), the Australian Bureau of Meteorology, and/or the Canadian Meteorological Centre (CMC)
Changes in model resolution and units
MODIS and VIIRS fire boundary data
*Our default forecast data come from the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC), Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC), and Central Pacific Hurricane Center (CPHC)

HISTORICAL TROPICAL CYCLONES
Polygon data for wind speed, storm surge depth, wave height, and rainfall amount based on the best-track** data for historical storms of choice, inputted into Kinetic Analysis’s proprietary models and run at a detailed 30 arcsecond (~ 1 km) resolution
ADDITIONAL HISTORICAL TROPICAL CYCLONE DATA
Track points and lines for the storms of choice based on official or internally-optimized best-track data
CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS
Additional tracks and hazard footprints based on post-event/best-track data by other sources of the client’s choice
Changes in model resolution and units
**as available from IBTRaCS (or, for recent storms where there is no best track, we use ATCF a-deck data provided by the U.S. NHC, JTWC, or CPHC)
