KinetiCast™ provides clients with the most current view of potential losses and hazards from tropical cyclones, earthquake and wind storms.
KinetiCast™-TC offers real-time views of the winds, waves, storm surge and rainfall, as well as the potential losses from tropical cyclones occurring anywhere in the world.
KinetiCast™-EQ provides views of peak ground acceleration and economic losses for earthquakes globally.
KinetiCast™-WS offers real-time views of wind footprints and losses for storms affecting Europe, North America and Eastern Asia.
HAZARD DATA
KinetiCast™-TC offers near real-time estimates of the spatial distributions of wind, wave, storm surge and precipitation intensities from tropical cyclones. We track all active tropical cyclones worldwide, drawing on a broad array of real-time weather data to drive in-house, advanced numerical modeling that computes the spatial distribution of maximum wind speed, wave heights, storm surge inundation and cumulative rainfall consistent with a storm’s past and forecast track. Hazard footprints are based on the forecast and observed storm track, intensity and wind radii provided by the designated RSMCs for a given region (e.g., the National Hurricane Center for the Atlantic and eastern North Pacific basin), by the JTWC and by model guidance (e.g., from the ECMWF, HWRF or the CMC). Real-time data are provided at a 60 arc second resolution and a post-event summary is provided with a 30 arc second resolution.
KinetiCast™-EQ provides estimates of peak ground acceleration from earthquakes occurring anywhere in the world. A variety of seismic attenuation functions are used to estimate ground motion associated with an earthquake.
KineticCast™-WS offers daily updates of the spatial distribution of wind from storms affecting Europe, North America and Eastern Asia. The spatial distribution of winds is numerically modeled with a resolution of 15 km using forecast and model guidance.
LOSS ESTIMATES
KinetiCast™ losses are provided as an estimate of the mean and as quantiles.
